Snowflakes caught in crystal

August 27, 2011

Caught in crystal close up

When I was preparing for the August technique class (using the Caught in Crystal technique) I made a few extra sample pieces to try different combinations. One of those variations was using darker inks with the Crystal effects and White Stazon over the top.

Caught in Crystal Christmas card

Recipe
Stamp set: Serene Snowflakes (W115438), Season of Joy (W110384)
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant (108614), Tempting Turquoise (108598), Medium Window Sheet (114323), Whisper White (106549)
Ink: White Stazon (106960), Elegant Eggplant (105210), Tempting Turquoise (100814)
Reinkers: Regals (119697), Brights (119698)
Punches: Scallop Oval (119856), 1-3/4″ x 7/8″ Oval (119855)
Other: Crystal Effects (101055), Neutrals Brads (119736)
Tools: Paper Piercer (116631), Mat Pack (105826)
Non-SU: Cheap Paintbrush

The Caught in Crystal layer was matted direct to a Tempting Turquoise panel and secured at the corners with White Brads. This was the popped up on dimensionals on the card front which had been stamped down the right hand side with more snowflakes in Elegant Eggplant ink. The sentiment was simply stamped, matted and layered.

Enjoy the long weekend – plenty of extra crafting time!
