On Board with a birthday cupcake

September 16, 2011

Chipboard cupcake close up

The On Board Mix and Match pack is retiring, although the Alphabet Soup will remain. These chipboard pieces (and there are over 100 of them in the pack) can be inked, glittered, covered with DSP or even left naked (gasp!). I used ink, glitter and DSP for this card.

Recipe
Cardstock: Rose Red (108613), Pink Pirouette (116203), Whisper White (106549)
Ink: Craft White (101731), Markers (119806)
DSP: Sweet and Sour Specialty (117390)
Bigz Die: Scallop Circle (113468)
Other: On Board Mix and Match (119240), Subtles Brads (119738), Dazzling Diamonds (102023)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Mat Pack (105826), Paper Piercer (116631), Crimper (101618), Sponge Daubers (102892)

The card blank is a 4″ square of Rose Red, matted with a square of Whisper White. A Scallop Circle of Pink Pirouette was trimmed and paper pierced, a brad added and then popped up on dimensionals on the card front. The cupcake base was covered with Sweet and Sour DSP trimmed to fit and then run through the Crimper to give the look of a real cupcake case. Whisper White Craft ink was daubed over the cupcake top before covering the “frosting” with Dazzling Diamonds and colouring the candle and flame with markers. The pieces were adhered direct to the card front.

Have a great weekend.

Sara xx
