Sneak peek no. 3 – faux glass butterfly

September 28, 2011

Faux glass butterfly close up

My sneak peek for you today is another of the new In Colours … and a new punch! I’ve combined them with a retiring product, Thick Window Sheet, to produce a faux glass butterfly card. You can do this technique with the Medium Window Sheet (which is staying) but the finished embellishment doesn’t have quite the same quality look and feel, the thicker window really does give the impression of glass.

Recipe
Stamp sets: Sincere Salutations (W105156), Tiny Tags (W118091 or C118592)
Cardstock: Sneak Peek, Very Vanilla (106550)
Ink: Sneak Peek, Stazon White (106960)
Punches: Sneak Peek
Bigz Die: Beautiful Butterflies (114507)
Other: Basic Pearls (119247)
Tools: Big Shot (113439)

The sentiment was stamped onto the Very Vanilla mat and the punched border adhered close to the bottom. These layers were adhered direct to the card front and small pearls added to the centre of each flower in the border. A piece of Thick Window Sheet was run through the Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies die and stamped with one of the Tiny Tags stamps (I’ll be back with the technique tomorrow). The butterfly was folded gently along the centre to give dimension and added using rolled glue dots. These were hidden by adding a pearl strip down the centre of the butterfly.

The Very Vanilla insert was simply stamped with the sentiment and one of the flower images from the Tiny Tags set.

I’ll be back again tomorrow to explain how I stamped onto the Window Sheets.
