Polar Party General Card Swap

December 2, 2011

This was the other general card swap that I made for convention. I say, I made … but I had so much help from my little xmas elves, heehee. My hubby die cut loads of tags for me. I ran the Whisper White through the embossing folder two at a time, stamped and punched the images and then packed all the pre-cut pieces in a box together with a reel of ribbon and adhesives. My team mates then helped by colouring and assembling the cards while we sat in the bar the night before convention. If ever I have my swaps ready for convention on time they’re going to have a major shock!

It does show though that these cards work well for batch production. Why not rope the family into helping create these little sweeties?

Recipe
Stamp set: Polar Party (W122675 or C122677)
Cardstock: Pool Party (124391), Island Indigo (124390), Whisper White (106549)
Ink: Black Stazon (101406), SU Markers (119806), 2011-2013 In Color Markers (123002), Signo White Gel Pen (105021)
Punches: Extra-large Oval (119859)
Ruffled Ribbon: Island Indigo (122974)
Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots (117335)
Sizzlits Die: Lots of Tags (114508)
Other: Mini Brads (122941), Dazzling Diamonds (102023)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Paper Piercing Tool (116631)

The card blank is a large square of Island Indigo. A Whisper White mat was run through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and adhered to a larger square mat of Pool Party. Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon was wrapped around opposite corners and secured on the reverse of the mats before adhering these layers direct to the card front. For the little topper, one of the penguins from the Polar Party set was stamped onto Whisper White card with Black Stazon ink, coloured with Markers (Pool Party, Regal Rose and Daffodil Delight) and punched out with the Extra-Large Oval. Dazzling Diamonds were added at the penguin’s feet and a Mini Brad was added for the hat’s pompom. The White Signo Gel Pen was used to add spots back in to the scarf. A shaped oval tag was die cut from Island Indigo card and the image popped up on dimensionals onto it, then popped up on dimensionals onto the card front.

I’ll be back tomorrow to share the swaps that I got in return.

Sara xx
