Recycled leaves card – yet again

December 9, 2011

leaves card close up

Today I’ve been crafting with my neighbour and she wanted to create a birthday card for her hubby that used leaves or trees. She was quite taken with the masculine card I’d made here and so we recycled the design yet again, to make this:

leaves card

Recipe
Stamp set: French Foliage (W120845 or C121166), Happiest Birthday Wishes (W122615 or C122617 Hostess)
Cardstock: Basic Black (121688), Old Olive (106576), Very Vanilla (106550)
Ink: Basic Black (101179), Brights Ink Refills (119698), Regals Ink Refills (119697)
DSP: Frightful Sight (122351)
Punches: 1-1/4″ Square (119865), 1-3/8″ Square (119877), Extra-large Oval (119859)
Satin Ribbon: Basic Black (117285)
Tools: Crimper (101618)

The base card is a DL size in Basic Black, matted with Old Olive card and Frightful Sight DSP (you see, it’s not just for Halloween). The leaves were stamped using a handmade inkpad made with babywipes dripped with More Mustard, Old Olive and Cajun Craze Ink Refills. Portions of the leaves were then punched out with 1-1/4″ Square. These were matted onto 1-3/8″ Squares of Old Olive. A strip of Old Olive card was put through the Crimper and then Basic Black Satin Ribbon was wrapped around it before adhering direct to the card front. The birthday sentiment was stamped in Basic Black, punched out with the Extra-Large Oval and popped up on dimensionals over the ribbon.

Off now to finish cutting card for tomorrow’s class.

See some of you there Smile
