Girlie penguins for Christmas

December 19, 2011

Today I met up with a bunch of girlfriends that I used to work with, for lunch and a gossip. Three of the four of us were suffering with colds so I think Nikki will be lucky to escape one after that Surprised

I’m absolutely hooked on these little penguins for my Christmas cards this year, but I wanted a change from the Island Indigo for my cards for these friends and so I went pink!

Recipe
Stamp set: Polar Party (W122675 or C122677)
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette (116203), Regal Rose (108612), Whisper White (106549), Brushed Silver (124918)
Ink: Pretty in Pink (101301), Black Stazon (101406), SU Markers (119806), 2011-2013 In Color Markers (123002)
Punches: Extra-large Oval (119859), Doily Triple Layer (122465)
Sizzlits Die: Lots of Tags (114508)
Other: Dazzling Diamonds (102023), Clear Rhinestone Brads (113144), Silver Elastic Cord (retired), Basics Glimmer Brads (121003)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Paper Piercing Tool (116631)

The base card is Regal Rose. A background stamped mat (see below) was wrapped around with Silver Elastic Cord (I so miss this product). Triple Doily layers were punched from Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette card and secured to the Elastic Cord with a Silver Glimmer Brad. This layer was then adhered direct to the card front. One of my little penguins was coloured (see here for more details) and popped up on dimensionals on a Tag die cut from Brushed Silver before popping up on more dimensionals on the card front.

Recipe (insert)
Stamp set: Polar Party (W122675 or C122677)
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette (116203),
Ink: Rose Red (101778), Pretty in Pink (101301),

The Pink Pirouette insert was stamped with the sentiment in Rose Red ink and a little penguin was added in Pretty in Pink ink as a watermark.

For the background layer the teeny stamps from the set were mounted onto a single block and repeatedly stamped across an A4 sheet of Pink Pirouette card with Pretty in Pink ink, offsetting the stamping slightly each time.

I’ll be back tomorrow to explain how I got the top Triple Doily so glittery.
