Elegant again … for an engagement

elegant engagement card close up

One of my friends at work has recently got engaged and so of course I needed to make a card to help him and his lovely fiancee to celebrate.

I love a Vanilla and Gold combo for anything engagement, wedding or anniversary. It also gave me the chance to use some of the lush new Velvet Designer Ribbon from the new Mini Catalogue.

elegant engagement card

Recipe
Stamp sets: Easy Events (W116958 or C123225), Wedding Sweet (W115466)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla (106550), Brushed Gold (124917)
Ink: Versamark (102283)
Punches: 1-3/4″ Circle (119850), Scallop Trim Border (118402)
Velvet Designer Ribbon: Very Vanilla (125637)
Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper (120175)
Bigz L Die: Perfect Pennants (123126)
Other: Gold EP (109129)
Tools: Heat Tool (110197), Big Shot (113439)

The card base is an A6 landscape of Very Vanilla. A mat of the same Vanilla was texture embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper on the bottom half (actually it was flipped so that the debossed side was showing). Using Versamark, the sentiment from Wedding Sweet was stamped above the textured embossing and heat embossed with Gold EP. This layer was adhered direct to a mat of Brushed Gold card. A strip of the Brushed Gold card was punched with the Scallop Trim Border, top and bottom and Very Vanilla Velvet Ribbon was wrapped around the strip lengthways. This was adhered direct to the card front layers and they were then popped up on dimensionals on the card front. The lovebirds from the Easy Events set was stamped in Versamark ink onto Very Vanilla card and heat embossed with Gold EP before punching out with the 1-3/4″ Circle. This image was popped up on dimensionals onto a scallop trim medallion die cut from Brushed Gold card using the Perfect Pennants die. More dimensionals were used to pop the medallion up on the card front.

I really enjoy making cards for such happy events.

The best of health, wealth and happiness to the loved up pair.

Sara xx
