valentine day 2 close up

Hi. I’m back with day 2 of my 7 days to Valentine’s.

Today I have a card which combines a few different techniques and uses a non-traditional colour combination.

valentine day 2

Recipe
Stamp set: I {Heart} Hearts (W117010 or C118571), Easy Events (W116958 or C123225)
Cardstock: Melon Mambo (119980), Basic Gray (121689), Island Indigo (124390), Whisper White (106549)
Ink: Melon Mambo (115656), Basic Gray (109120), Versamark (102283)
Punches: Full Heart (119883), Small Heart (117193), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275)
Ruffled Ribbon: Island Indigo (122974)
Other: Melon Mambo EP (123223), Dazzling Diamonds (102023)
Tools: Heat Tool (110197), Crop-a-dile (108362), Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049)
Non-SU: Clear Packing Tape

The base card is an A6 landscape of Melon Mambo. An aperture was punched in the bottom right corner of the card front using the Small Heart punch and the heart was retained for later. Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, the beginning of the “Sending you Love”  sentiment was stamped just to the left of the small aperture. Two Full Hearts were punched out of the centre of a large strip of Basic Gray card with a slight overlap at the top of the hearts.  This aperture was used as a template to lightly pencil the outline onto Whisper White card and the fancy hearts were stamped in Melon Mambo ink before erasing the outline. The outline hearts from the set were stamped in Versamark onto the Basic Gray panel and heat embossed with Melon Mambo EP. Clear packing tape was laid over the back of the aperture with the sticky side facing through and Dazzling Diamonds rubbed into the adhesive. The stamped hearts were adhered behind the glitter window. Two Dotted Scalloped Ribbon Borders were punched from Island Indigo card and adhered behind the main panel so that only the scalloped edge shows. Using the Crop-a-dile, two small holes were punched into the panel above the hearts and threaded with Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon. The panel was popped up on the card front with dimensionals and the retained Melon Mambo heart was popped up on a sliver of dimensional in the centre of the panel.
