Everyday Enchantment – quilted

March 11, 2012

quilt card close up

Oops! I missed a day again, didn’t I? I’m sorry about that. I did manage to squeeze a card in yesterday morning before class, but it is for Hazel’s birthday on Tuesday and I know she reads this blog, so I couldn’t share straight away. I hope you’ll understand.

Hope you’re having a good weekend. DH and I have had a great cardmaking session this afternoon. He’s been working on his Mother’s Day card and I’ve been busy making another friend’s card, ready for her birthday on Wednesday and also the card shown here.

For this card, I aimed for a quilted effect by adhering punched postage stamps of the Sale-a-bration DSP to a card mat and then running it through an embossing folder.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Poppy Parade card. Postage Stamps were punched from Everyday Enchantment DSP and adhered direct to the top half of a large mat of Sahara Sand. The Postage Stamp covered area was sandwiched in the Square Lattice embossing folder and run through the Big Shot to create the quilted look. Using Poppy Parade ink, the border from the Fresh Vintage set was stamped below the quilt. The same ink was used to stamp the sentiment onto Very Vanilla card before stamping out with the Word Window and then adhering direct to a Modern Label punched from Poppy Parade card. This was popped up on dimensionals, overlapping the stamped border. Mini flowers were created by punching the Itty Bitty 8-petal flower from Very Vanilla card and the Itty Bitty 4-petal flower from Poppy Parade. The latter was shaped and adhered direct to the centre of the former and a pearl added to the centre. The flowers were adhered direct to the card front.
