Bright vintage card close up

Continuing our Sale-a-bration countdown, I’m back today with the Fresh Vintage stamp set again. This time, in bold, bright colours.

I took my inspiration for the card from the following sketch offered by my SUDSOL Stampin’ Up! demo forum:

And this is my take on it:

Recipe
Stamp sets: Fresh Vintage (W125115 or C125117) (Free Sale-a-bration set), Sincere Salutations (W105156)
Cardstock: Basic Black (121688), Tangerine Tango (116206), Daffodil Delight (121680)
Ink: Versamark (102283)
Punches:  Scallop Trim Border (118402)
1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon: Daffodil Delight (120928)
Embosslits Die: Beautiful Wings (118138)
Other: Tangerine Tango EP (123106), Basic Rhinestones (119246)
Tools: Heat Tool (110197), Big Shot (113439)

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Black. A mat of more Basic Black card was stamped at the top with the floral image from the Fresh Vintage set in Versamark and heat embossed with Tangerine Tango EP. The same mat was embossed in the same way using the sentiment across the bottom. This layer was then adhered direct to a mat of Daffodil Delight card. A strip of Tangerine Tango card was punched top and bottom with the Scallop Trim Border and adhered direct across the centre of the stamped image. Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon was wrapped around the centre of the punched strip before popping the main panel up on dimensionals on the card front. A bow of the same ribbon was added with a glue dot. Butterflies were die cut from Tangerine Tango card using the Beautiful Wings embosslits and the Big Shot and were then added to the card front with glue dots and finished with Basic Rhinestones.

I just love the contrast of the bright embossing against the black and as it’s such a fine powder it still shows the detail of this intricate stamp.

Just came across your beautiful card on Pinterest. Love your idea of embossing this beautiful image with colored embossing powder! Wow, it’s so striking! Love the accent color of yellow, too.

      Hi Dawn

Thank you. I don’t think I can quite call it retirement yet 😀 (I’m only 45) but whatever it is, I’m loving it!
