An intersecting framelit gatefold card

June 21, 2012

Today’s card is a commission that I’ve made for my friend, whose daughter turns 18 soon. As it’s such a special event, I made the card larger than usual (A5) and made it a special fold – an intersecting Labels Collections framelit (125598) gatefold.

The Mixed Bunch (W125535 or C125537) flowers were stamped for the background and a few extra ones heat embossed in Silver EP and punched out with the Blossom (125603). A few Little Leaves (114511) were tucked behind the flowers. The Beautiful Butterfly (114507) was die cut from Wisteria Wonder card and layered with another of Vellum card that was first heat embossed with the Fine Flourish (115709) using Silver EP.

A couple of the Blossoms and the Butterfly were attached to the outer Silver Frame and the other Blossom was attached to the centre.

For the inside, the piece of card that the larger framelit was cut from, was used as a stencil and chalked to create the single layer frame in the centre.

A card with many layer and techniques but then an 18th birthday is kinda special don’t you think?

Sara xx
