Open Sea meets Woodgrain

October 4, 2012

For today’s masculine birthday card, I’ve combined the Open Sea stamp set (woohoo, it’s back!) with the Woodgrain (both embossing folder and background stamp).

The card base is an A6 landscape card of Midnight Muse. A mat of Crumb Cake card was run through the Big Shot in the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821) then Chocolate Chip ink was swiped across the raised pattern and sponged around the edges. The Woodgrain was matted onto Chocolate Chip card and them onto the card front. The ship from the Open Sea set (W123030 or C123032) and the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners set (W126255 or C126257) were stamped in Midnight Muse ink onto Whisper White card. (Tip – the new ink pads are really juicy so allow just a little longer for the ink to dry than is usual). These were die cut out using the Labels Collection (125598) and Itty Bitty Framelits (129267) respectively. A larger Label was die cut from Midnight Muse card and pierced around the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack (127857). The Labels were matted centrally and directly, then popped up on dimensionals on the card front. The sentiment was adhered direct to a scrap of Midnight Muse card, which was trimmed to the same banner shape and popped up on dimensionals on the card front as well.

For the inside, the Woodgrain background (117100) was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on the side of the insert and the anchor from the Open Sea set was stamped over the top of the Woodgrain in Midnight Muse ink, stamping off first each time for a more subtle effect.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sara xx
