Some field flowers for a belated birthday

October 23, 2012

Oh I feel bad! One of my team had a birthday and I missed it Frown

It was a great excuse though to break out another of my new stamp sets and this one, Field Flowers (W122760 or C122762) is a real beauty! It’s a two step stamp set – one of those where you stamp the denser design in one colour, then stamp the outline design in a darker colour, over the top.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Summer Starfruit (another of this year’s new In Colors). This was matted with Comfort Cafe DSP (126898). The flowers were stamped onto Whisper White card; the stem and leaves in Old Olive ink, the dense design flower in Summer Starfruit ink and the outline design flower in Soft Suede ink. Even though I used clear mount stamps I still used the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) to get the placement of the outline stamps exact. The flowers were die cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003) before stamping the sentiment with Soft Suede ink. A second, matching shape was die cut from Soft Suede card, cut in half and matted to the back of the flowers to frame them before popping the image up on dimensionals on the card front.

I’m going to collect birthday details from the team this Sunday in the hope that I don’t make this mistake again.

Sara xx
