Today’s valentine card uses the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP. The first time I saw the gorgeous red flocked acetate I thought about Valentine’s and so I have stockpiled a little of this
Although they were primarily designed for Christmas, these papers can really be used year round. They’ll disappear though at the end of January so you’ve just got a few weeks left to stock up on them.
Real Red card was cut to a large square with a small extra margin on one side that was punched with the Scallop Edge Border (119882) and folded over to create a square back to the card. A matching square of flocked acetate from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP (126901) was adhered to the inside border. Reducing sizes of Labels Collection framelits (125598) were cut from Champagne Glimmer Paper (127885) (also disappearing at the end of the month), Candlelight Christmas DSP and Very Vanilla card. The sentiment from the Delightful Dozen set (W122650 or C122652) was stamped on the Vanilla framelit (landscape direction) with Real Red ink and this and the DSP framelit were sponged around the edges with the same ink. After adhering the Glimmer Paper framelit (portrait direction) direct to the card front, the other framelits were popped up on dimensionals and a tiny Glimmer Paper heart, punched out with the Owl Builder (118074) was added to finish.
For the inside a large square of Very Vanilla card was added to the inside back. The larger Bitty Banners framelit (129267) was used to die cut a banner from Real Red card and adhered direct to the centre of the card. After stamping the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners (W126255 or C126257) (this will be available as a Sale-a-bration freebie in a little over a week, woohoo!) onto Very Vanilla card with Real Red ink, it was die cut with the smaller matching Bitty Banners framelit, sponged around the edges and popped up on slivers of dimensionals. Another Glimmer Paper heart was used to finish.
I don’t like to have adhesive showing through the acetate and so a framelit and a Scallop Edge Border of Real Red card were adhered to the back of the acetate to hide it.
If you’d like to order the DSP or the Glimmer Paper before it goes then please email me or give me a call on 0775 1133886.
