Yesterday was my nephew’s Christening day. My Mum commissioned me to make a card for her for the occasion and so it had to be pretty special – no pressure Laughing

The card base is an A5 landscape of Baja Breeze. I didn’t want a base opening (it’s likely to slide apart and fall flat) and as you can’t fold an A4 or 12″ x 12″ to that size, I made a feature of having two separate pieces of A6 card and tied them together with Baja Breeze Taffeta Ribbon (122964). The card front and binding edge were matted with Not Quite Navy card. A paper bow was created from Floral District DSP (126919) and adhered to the top of the card front. After using the computer to print a custom made sentiment onto Whisper White card, it was snipped to a banner, sponged around the edges with Not Quite Navy ink and popped up on dimensionals in the centre of the bow. Different Baja Breeze papers from Twitterpated (125406) and Patio Party (126916) were used to mat the central area, using the 3/16″ Corner punch (119871) on the outside corners. The pram from the Bundle of Love set (W121223 or C121291) was stamped one onto Whisper White card and again onto DSP which was paper pieced over the top of the stamped version. A little colouring was done with markers, the corners rounded, edges sponged as for the sentiment and Mini Brads (122941) added before popping up on dimensionals in the centre of the card. Two large hearts were die cut and textured with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit (117332), sponged again as before and popped up on dimensionals on either side of the main image. Finally his name was spelled out using the Typeset Alphabet (127553) along the base of the card (I’ll be back tomorrow with a technique for the lettering).

On the inside of the card a verse was printed onto Whisper White card using the computer and then small images from the Bundle of Love were stamped in the corners with Not Quite Navy ink.

Wishing you the happiest of futures baby George!
