Jazz up your jars!

August 6, 2013

jam jars close up

While I was shopping for some jams for Tony’s Dad for his birthday (it’s become a bit of an in joke over the years) I found some real cute mini jam jars with little jam pot covers over the lids.

But of course they didn’t have the flavours we preferred and so I had to get standard jam jars (well almost standard Smile).

Then I got to thinking how easy it would be to make cute little covers for them …

All these are, are squares of Gingham Garden DSP (129310) wrapped around and tied on with Island Indigo Baker’s Twine (125575). The For You sentiment from the Chalk Talk set* (W130631 or C130634) was stamped in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper White card and punched out with the 1-1/4″ Circle (119861). This was popped up on a dimensional on a 1-3/8″ Circle (119860) punched from Island Indigo card and popped up on more dimensionals on the top of the cover. After stamping the Happy Big Day sentiment in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper White card it was die cut out with the matching Chalk Talk framelits* (129983) and tied onto the Baker’s Twine.

*Buy the Chalk Talk stamps and framelits as a bundle and save 15% (W132731 – £37.25 or C132730 – £32.95)

For those of you who create your own jams and preserves (is there a difference? I don’t know Embarassed), why not jazz up your own jars?

And who says it has to be jams? You could fill empty, washed out jam jars with sweets or other small items … oooh thinking of all sorts of ideas for gifts now Laughing
