I’m not too keen on giving gift cards as a present for friends. I prefer to get them something a little more personal but sometimes a gift card is just the right solution – maybe because I need to post the gift, maybe because there’s a larger item that they’re “saving up for”.

Today is the birthday of a friend that I knew I wouldn’t get to see face to face and so a gift card was an ideal solution for easy posting.

And yet, with Stampin’ Up! a gift card can still be made to look that little bit more special and stand out from the crowd.

Chevron gift card holder

The base holder was made with Very Vanilla card and the Card Base Pop ‘n’ Cuts die (130099) and the front flap was textured with the Chevron embossing folder (127749). I’ll be back with a quick tutorial including measurements and tips for embossing, in the next day or so. A panel of Halloween DSP was punched with the 3/16″ Corner (119871) and adhered to the bottom of the gift holder. Punched Witches’ Brew Washi Tape (132156) (another tip that I’ll share with you soon Wink) was stamped with a sentiment from Bring on the Cake (Wood 128490 or Clear 121958) using Black Stazon and matted with a Pumpkin Pie Decorative Label (120907) cut in two, before popping up on dimensionals. A few Itty Bitty flowers (118309 pack of three punches) were punched from Pumpkin Pie, topped with Basic Rhinestones (119246) and adhered to the tabbed flaps and the sentiment. Finally, Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon (119253) was tied around the top of the holder

Here’s the gift wallet opened up.

Another sentiment from the same set was stamped inside with Black Stazon and the gift card tucked inside. This is a stunt gift card as I didn’t have the actual one to hand when I took the pic Laughing
