Pleasant Poppies sympathy card

This week’s SUDSOL sketch challenge is this:

Sketch 234

Some weeks ago a friend lost  someone very dear to her. I didn’t have a sympathy card ready and by the time I could get to craft one, it was really too many days late. Rather than get caught like that again, I decided to use the sketch to make a sympathy card to have on hand.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Black, matted with Crumb Cake. A section of the Pleasant Poppies (Wood 132061 or Clear 129499) was stamped onto Very Vanilla card with Black Stazon and then coloured with Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black markers. This was then adhered direct to a panel of Basic Black card and then direct to the card front. The sentiment from Teeny, Tiny Sentiments  (Wood 130042 or Clear 120024) was stamped alongside the panel in Black Stazon and Basic Pearls (119247) added above. Layers and embellishments were kept as flat as possible, for ease of posting through the mail if needed.

On the Very Vanilla insert, the poppies were stamped again, this time using Crumb Cake ink and another sentiment from the same Teeny, Tiny Sentiments set was stamped in Black Stazon.

Here’s hoping that I don’t need this for some time but that I remember where I put it when I do.
