Today’s card uses the dryer sheet technique which makes the image very glittery but I’ve had real trouble trying to pick that up on camera. The idea was to give the impression of sparkling water … and it does in real life but the glitz is just hidden by the dryer sheet when you capture it in 2D, you need to be able to move it around to show the shine.
I’ll be back with a tutorial for the technique tomorrow.
The card base is a small square of Bermuda Bay, stamped randomly with the script from By the Tide (Wood 131910 or Clear 129120) in the same colour ink. After stamping the shell from the same set in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White card, it was masked off and the coral was stamped over the top in Gumball Green ink. The seahorse was stamped in Perfect Plum and the fish in Bermuda Bay. After giving the image the dryer sheet technique, it was matted onto Soft Sky card and popped up on the card front with dimensionals. A sentiment from Petite Pairs (Wood 128706 or Clear 122497) was stamped onto Whisper White card with Bermuda Bay ink, matted onto more Soft Sky card and popped up, overlapping the main image.
Trying to give a better idea of the sparkle, but still difficult to catch.
On the inside the Whisper White insert was stamped with the anchor seal in Bermuda Bay ink, after first stamping off to get a paler colour.
Back tomorrow with the technique tutorial.
