Traveler birthday card

July 17, 2014

Yesterday was hubby’s birthday. We were both working at the day jobs yesterday, so I took the evening off from blogging etc, for us to spend time together 🙂

This was my card to him.

The design is especially relevant because he and his Dad took a a trip on the Trans-Siberian railway last month – most definitely world travellers!

The card base is an A6 portrait of Night of Navy, matted with Cherry Cobbler card. Using Night of Navy ink, the train from the Traveler set was stamped onto the bottom right corner of a mat of Very Vanilla. A piece of Typeset DSP was cut to the same size as the Very Vanilla mat and the corner torn away to reveal the train. The torn edge of DSP and all the cut edges were sponged with Night of Navy ink before adhering to the card front. A sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Very Vanilla card, punched out with the Word Window, matted onto a Modern Label of Cherry Cobbler and popped up on the card front.

On the Very Vanilla insert the passport and the suitcase from the Traveler set were stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede inks respectively. A sentiment from Pictogram Punches was stamped in Night of Navy ink. One of the hearts from the same set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Very Vanilla card, punched out with the matching Itty Bitty Accents punch and popped up over the original heart.

Thanks for stopping by.
