All is Calm snowflake box

October 4, 2014

I come back to this origami folded box almost every season and this time I’m folding it from the All is Calm Specialty DSP (so that I don’t end up hoarding the gorgeous silver foil paper – my usual trick, lol).

The topper was created using the Snowflake card thinlit set. Yesterday I shared a video showing how to use the thinlits both for making a flip card and to cut the large snowflake seen in this topper.

The box is folded from the silver foil All is Calm DSP following the instructions provided by Tanya Bell ( a very talented Australian demo). A belly band was formed from Brushed Silver card, matted with a strip of the other foiled paper from the pack. A snowflake topper was created by using dies from the Snowflake card thinlit, cutting the main flake  (part of the flip card design) and the teeny flake from more Brushed Silver and the medium flake from Silver Glimmer Paper. All three were pinned together with a Candy Dot Brad Base, filled with a Basic Rhinestone and then popped up on the belly band with dimensionals.
