Mini treat bag hearts card

We have a few wedding anniversaries to celebrate this week (and then my own next weekend 🙂 )

Those of you who’ve been following my blog for a while, may know that I tend to opt for white for my anniversary cards.

Well, I’m so glad that SU! have brought out a white cardstock that is thick/heavy enough to use for a card base. The standard Whisper White is fantastic for stamping on, it’s super smooth and gives such a crisp stamped image, but it did tend to flop and sag a bit when used for a card base. Not so with the thick Whisper White that’s also available now. This stands straight, even after adding texture and die-cutting.

Now I can use the thick for a card base and the standard (which is better value) for card layers – best of both worlds!

Treat bag hearts

The card base is a 4″ square of Whisper White thick cardstock. The hearts border from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set was die cut from the top and bottom of the card front, which was then run through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots embossing folder. Using the heart die from the Mini Treat Bag thinlits and the smaller heart from the Circle Card thinlits together, two open hearts were die cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, intertwined and popped up on dimensionals on the card front.

Happy Anniversary to Mari & Mick!

Sara xx
