Floral birthday in gold and orange

August 15, 2016

My friend’s favourite colour is orange and so it was an easy choice for the colour combo for her birthday card this last weekend. I say easy, but actually since SU! have so many different shades of orange I guess it’s not actually so easy after all 🙂 but I decided to go with Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango with a hint of Gold.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Peekaboo Peach. A card layer of Tangerine Tango was run through the Big Shot with the Detailed Floral Thinlits, top and bottom. Gold Satin Ribbon and Peekaboo Peach Ribbon were layered and wrapped around the negative space of the card front layer before popping it up on the card front with slivers of dimensionals. The same ribbons were tied in a knot on the front and secured in place with glue dots (so that the silky satin ribbon doesn’t unravel). Leaves from the limited-time Beautiful Branches thinlit set were die cut from more Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango card and a sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes was stamped on the solid leaf with Versamark ink before heat embossing with Gold EP. The leaves were tied onto the ribbon with Linen Thread.

On the Very Vanilla insert, the flowers from the Floral Phrases set were stamped in Peekaboo Peach and a sentiment from Endless Birthday Wishes was added in Tangerine Tango.

Don’t forget – the Thoughtful Branches stamp set and Beautiful Branches thinlits are only available this month … or while stocks last (which could be before the end of the month) – so please don’t miss out.

Sara xx
