Masculine Vintage Leaves

August 3, 2017

This masculine Vintage Leaves birthday card uses a muted colour palette, mixed textures and knotted twine to create a more rugged look. It could easily be changed to a more feminine version by choosing brighter or more pastel colours and swapping twine for ribbon.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Old Olive matted with a panel of Color Theory DSP. A panel of Whisper White was stamped around the edges with the splotchy block design from Timeless Textures. This stamp was inked with Old Olive, stamped off once and then Soft Suede dabbed randomly direct to stamp with a Sponge Dauber before stamping onto the panel. Small leaves from the Vintage Leaves set were inked in the same way (but the Old Olive was not stamped off this time) and stamped at the top and midway down the panel. A sentiment from  Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped in Soft Suede before adhering the panel direct to the card front. The largest leaf from Vintage Leaves was inked as before and stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White. Using the co-ordinating Leaflets Framelits the stamped leaf was die cut out along with another from Soft Suede card. These were adhered together, slightly offset, to create a shadow effect. Three strands were trimmed from Burlap Ribbon and tied in a knot (secured with a glue dot) around the leaf shapes before popping them up on dimensionals on the card front.

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped in Soft Suede ink. Inking the stamps as before with Old Olive and daubs of Soft Suede, two leaves from Vintage Leaves were stamped in the corners.

Thanks for stopping by.
