You Move Me butterfly birthday card

August 13, 2017

On Friday I shared some gift packaging and a tag. Today I have the card that matches the tag to share with you.

This one’s for a crafty friend who I know stops by here from time to time, so Happy Birthday Jan!

The design was CASE’d from Dawn Griffith following her tutorial here, though I have changed the dimensions slightly to end with an A6 design, rather than the US card size.

The card base is Tangerine Tango. A panel of Whole Lot of Lovely DSP was matted onto Basic Black card and then direct to the left front of the trio-fold card. Using the large butterfly die from the Move Me thinlit set, a fold over closure was partially die cut from the right front of the card following Dawn’s instructions. Whole butterflies were die cut from Tangerine Tango card with the Move Me thinlits and detailed butterflies from Basic Black card with the same. These were layered together with mini dimensionals and popped up on the card front with regular dimensionals and finished with Basic Rhinestones. A sentiment from Thoughtful Banners was stamped onto Whisper White card with Basic Black ink and punched out with the Duet Banner. More banners were punched from Basic Black and Tangerine Tango card, adhered behind the stamped banner, offset slightly and then popped up on the card front with mini dimensionals.

Here you can see the flap closure created by the right hand butterfly.

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from Thoughtful Banners was stamped in Basic Black. The solid teeny butterflies from You Move Me were stamped in Tangerine Tango and then overstamped with the detailed butterflies in Basic Black. The insert was matted onto Basic Black card and adhered direct to the inside centre panel.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sara xx
