Sequins and glitz for a manly birthday card

February 2, 2018

Can you use sequins and glitz and still create a manly birthday card? This is my take on it – what do you think?

I’m also using the Sale-a-bration Celebrate You thinlits – free with a £90 purchase (or they will be available for sale in the Annual catty when it comes out in the summer).

My hubby says he would be pleased to receive this card. He likes the bold colour combination and doesn’t find the sequins and glitter overpowering (but then he also feels comfortable wearing a pink shirt 🙂 ).

The card base is an A6 portrait of Lemon Lime Twist. A card front layer of Basic Black was run through the Big Shot with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic embossing folder (you can just see the embossing towards the top of the card on the black but it’s clearer on the Whisper White insert below). Lemon Lime Twist Mini Striped Ribbon was wrapped around the embossed layer before adhering it direct to the card front. A further piece of the ribbon was tied on in a knot. The sentiment was die cut from Myths and Magic Glimmer Paper and adhered direct. To finish, some of the Tutti-frutti Adhesive-Backed Sequins were scattered around.

The right hand edge of the Whisper White insert was run through the Big Shot with the same Scattered Sequins Dynamic embossing folder. Sentiments from the Picture Perfect Birthday set were stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black inks.

Pop the items used in the project (listed below) into your shopping basket and add an adhesive of your choice and you’ll qualify for the Celebrate You thinlits for free!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by.
