Joyous Noel masculine Christmas card

October 8, 2018

When I’m making cards for men I usually steer clear of glitter but the touch of glitz on this Christmas card is pretty subtle.

The paper used is from the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP pack and this particular pattern does not have a specific direction. This meant that by cutting the paper to a full card front layer and then trimming side to side I ended up with two virtually identical diagonally cut pieces to use for card fronts.

The colour combo is taken from the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP and is Merry Merlot, Tranquil Tide and metallic Copper.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Merry Merlot. A card front layer of Whisper White was stamped with a sentiment from Merry Christmas To All using Merry Merlot ink. Holly leaves from the same set were stamped beneath with Tranquil Tide ink. A piece of Joyous Noel Specialty DSP was cut diagonally and adhered to the stamped layer and then a sliver of Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper was adhered right up the the edge of the paper before adhering all layers direct to the card front. Tiny holly berries were punched from the Merry Merlot Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper and adhered over the holly leaves to finish (I used the buttons from the Cookie Cutter punch but there are many alternatives).

On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from Merry Christmas To All was stamped in Merry Merlot ink and a strip of the DSP used on the front was adhered across the base.

Thanks for stopping by.
