Swaps from Onstage

Another quick picture post today. These are the wonderful swaps I received back from the talented ladies and gentlemen I met up with at Onstage last weekend.

A huge thank you to everyone who swapped with me 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Onstage Convention freebies

A quick post today to share with you all the freebies I got when I attended our Stampin’ Up! convention, otherwise known as Onstage, last weekend 🙂

A handy bag for carrying everything around in.

Another bag … and a shiny pin … to celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s 30th anniversary (10 years in Europe, 30 years in the US).

A cute coffee mug.

A pretty notebook and pens.

And last, but most important, preview stamp sets and a few extra goodies.

I love SU! conventions! And I didn’t even have to pay to go – I used my Flex points (points that you get awarded for sales, recruiting and leadership) – bonus!

Have a great weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Convention freebies

A final (?) post from Convention today as I realised I hadn’t shared with you all the freebies we got – and that’s always interesting to see right? 🙂

We pay £150 to attend Convention … but I think they turn around and give that money right back to us 😀

As well as the freebies highlighted below, the convention ticket also included:

  • 2 packed lunches;
  • the After Awards party, complete with a huge  range of desserts (yum!);
  • make and take packs using the free stamp sets (see below);
  • all seminars; and
  • inspiration boards, demo booths and try out desks.

On arrival we got our convention bag. This changes every year and this time it’s been designed to hold a tablet – my iPad fits in perfectly.

And the convention pen is designed with a normal nib at one end and a tablet swipe nib at the other.

To help us carry our swaps etc they thoughtfully included a second, cotton bag.

We had our convention schedule as well as a copy of the current main catalogue.

Our free stamp sets this year were Amazing birthday …

… and Kinda Eclectic

Within minutes of the convention starting we had an all attendee give-away of the Trim the Tree paper stack.

A cute little reminder of the next incentive trip was this message in a bottle (with a few buttons and mini pegs that I’ll use 🙂 ).

The next incentive is a cruise! And the earning period for this only started at the beginning of October so if you’re really motivated, you could join now and earn this – it has been done!

We received another all attendee give-away of the Project Life Love Story card collection.

Our final all attendee give-away was the four feathers stamp set and matching framelits.

I was lucky enough to win a prize patrol too! I got the Under the Tree Specialty DSP and the Curvy Keepsake framelits.

And because I signed up for Convention by a certain date I got an early bird bonus and was able to choose a stamp set from the catalogue when I returned after the event. I chose the Bravo stamp set.

Isn’t that a huge haul of goodies?

We were able to keep the travel costs down by booking our trains and the Eurostar well ahead and we used a comparison site for our hotels.

If you’d like to come along with us to next year’s convention then now is a great time to sign up.  You’ll have a good 11 months to earn the funds to cover your costs – through your commissions! Contact me to have a chat about it or sign up here if you can’t wait 🙂

Have a great weekend.

A picture heavy post today. I’ve already shared the swaps that I made for convention and now I’m back to show you the ones that I got in return.

Thanks so much for all my lovely swaps, I know how much work goes into preparing these and each one is treasured.

Convention swaps – swap three

festival swap close up

I loved the Blackberry Bliss and Gold combo I used for a recent class so much that I reused it for one of my convention swaps – I can see this combo coming back again and again – it’s just so lush.

And as I was using the die cut Noel on my other card, I took a couple of extra seconds to carefully place the die on a measured panel of Brushed Gold so that I could use the die cut word on one card and the negative space on this one 🙂

festival swap

A panel of Blackberry Bliss was punched along the bottom with the Confetti Stars and adhered to a Very Vanilla base. After die cutting the Noel in the Wonderful Wreath framelits from Brushed Gold the negative was run through the Big Shot in the Lucky Stars embossing folder. This was popped up on the card front with dimensionals and the centres of the “0”, “e” and “l” were popped up in place on slivers of dimensionals. A Tree was punched from Gold Glimmer Paper, adhered direct to the starry panel at the top of the tree and supported with dimensionals on the lower half. After stamping a tree from Festival of Trees in Versamark ink onto Blackberry Bliss card, it was heat embossed with Gold EP,  punched out with the Tree and popped up over the Gold Tree with dimensionals. An Itty Bitty Accents star was punched from both Gold Glimmer paper and Blackberry Bliss card and these were adhered direct to the top of the opposite Tree.

* Buy the Festival of Tree photopolymer stamp set and the Tree punch as a Festival of Trees Bundle and save 15%.

Enjoy your extra hour today!

Convention swaps – swap two

wreath swap close up

I’m back today with another of the swaps that I made for convention this year. This one was a pretty involved one with a fancy fold card and plenty of stamping and die-cutting.

wreath swap full

The spring card base (it springs up and stands on its own) is Crumb Cake, matted and trimmed with Cherry Cobbler card. After stamping the full wreath from the Wondrous Wreath photopolymer set onto Very Vanilla card with Wild Wasabi ink, the extra leaves were added in Garden Green and the berries in Cherry Cobbler. This was die cut out with the matching Wondrous Wreath framelits and popped up on the card front on dimensionals. A bow from the same stamp set was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut with the matching framelit and popped up at the top of the wreath. Noel was die cut from Brushed Gold card and adhered direct to the wreath. Two of the little flowers were stamped in Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler, die cut out, layered and popped up on the corners of the card. The whole card was made using just the Wondrous Wreath bundle – no need for any extra stamps or framelits.

Stay tuned to find out how I made the Noel do double duty!

Have a great weekend.

Conventions swaps – swap one

small box swap close up

Can you believe that I only made 32 swaps for convention this year!

Between work commitments and holidays I suddenly found that convention had crept up on me and I ran out of time 🙁

Luckily for me, I’ve just booked to go to our Leeds Sale-a-bration Tour in November – demos attending will get a sneak peek of Sale-a-bration and it will also give me another opportunity for lots of swapping. (If you’re thinking of making the most of the free DSP offer and joining up then you could come along with me 🙂 )

Think I’d better get started on my swaps this weekend otherwise I’ll get caught out again 😉

Anyhow, although I only made 32 swaps I used three different designs – here’s the first:

small box swap

The box is the dinky version made with the Gift Box Punch Board and a 6″ x 6″ sheet of Soft Sky card. It was decorated with Nordic Noel DSP and then a belly band of the same card and DSP wrapped around. The Envelope Punch Board was used to create a gift bow from matching DSP which was finally topped with a 1/2″ Circle punched from Soft Sky card and then a Basic Pearl.

Different versions using other sheets from the DSP pack were made with Real Red and Garden Green card as the base.

Each dinky box had a little packet of sweeties inside.

Thanks for stopping by.

Convention highlights

I hope that you were able to follow our Convention fun over on Facebook (managed to add the link this time 🙂 ).

Travelling light (needed the extra space for swaps, freebies and chocolates!) meant that I was only using my phone and iPad  – no computer. And as the convention centre didn’t have free wifi I had to pay for an internet package from my provider which then wouldn’t work on day 2 until mid afternoon (just hope that I’ve not got staunch for too many additional charges!). Facebook at least makes it easy to post snippets quickly and easily but I appreciate that not everyone uses it, so here are a few highlights for those who missed them.

3 more sleeps to go!

IMG_1058

Yay! I’m excited! I’m off to Brussels on Thursday with my crafting buddies to attend the annual Stampin’ Up! convention.

It’s taking place earlier than usual this year which is great – it’s happening well ahead of bonfire night which is the usual timing. Hubbie stays home to look after our dog Bess and she turns into a jelly as soon as the fireworks start, so I’ll be glad to be back home to help soothe her. Guilt free convention for me this year!

I’m busy working on swaps at the moment so I don’t have anything to share just now as I don’t want to spoil the surprise for anyone 🙂

If I can find free wifi while I’m there then I’ll post updates as we go along.

Convention origami mint holder swaps

origami mint front

This is my final convention post (I think Laughing) and it was the main swap that I gave to others. I created it from 6″ x 6″ DSP so that I could get four of these little treats from one sheet of DSP. There’s a little sentiment on the front and then the back is all folded over like this:

origami mint back

It unfolds halfway like this …:

origami mint half open

… and then fully to reveal the chocolate mint inside:

origami mint fully open

Here’s a video to show how to score and fold it:

Have a great weekend!
