Birthday gift wrapping

birthday tag close up

It may be Christmas but it’s still birthday time! A good friend has her birthday tomorrow (Christmas Eve, the same as my Gran’s was) and I wanted to make sure that the wrapping was just as special for her birthday gifts as the Christmas gifts. I also wanted to make sure that birthday and Christmas looked completely different.

As I was planning to use the bold, glitzy Sequin Trim, I aimed to balance it and create a simple elegant look by opting to keep the rest of the wrap, plain vanilla.

The gifts were wrapped with Festive Designer Kraft Paper Rolls (suitable all year round). They were then tied together with paired Venetian Crochet Trim and Gold Sequin Trim. The tag was layers of Very Vanilla punched with the Blossom, Pansy, Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents flowers separated by dimensionals and topped with a Basic Pearl. It was tied on with Gold Baker’s Twine.

As with yesterday’s snowflake tag, the tag was written before assembling.

Hope you have a great day Catherine 🙂

Snowflake Tag

I’ve used some snowflake wrapping paper for my Christmas gifts (I have a huge roll so I’ll probably still be using it next year 😀 ) and decided to make some snowflake tags to go with it.

snowflake tags

The Snowflake Card thinlit was used to die cut the main chunky snowflake from Whisper White card (see the video here to find out how to cut just this portion). The large skinny snowflake was die cut from Silver Foil and the small skinny snowflake from Whisper White. A dimensional was used to pop up the silver flake and then the small one adhered direct before topping with a Basic Rhinestone.

The tag was tied onto the Whisper White Organza Ribbon with White Baker’s Twine.

tag tip

A quick tip – It’s best to write the tag before assembling it, so that you’re not writing across a bumpy surface 😉

Merry Everything Halloween treats

A quick post as we get ready for the trick or treaters!

As I’m expecting a lot of them, I needed a really easy Halloween treat.

merry everything treats

The long, skinny cellophane bags were filled with treats and one of two different labels tied on with Early Espresso Baker’s Twine. Using the same Halloween tag from Merry Everything*, it was stamped in either Tangerine Tango ink onto Whisper White card or Basic Black ink onto Pumpkin Pie card. Each version was punched out with the matching Note Tag*.

Buy the Merry Everything stamp set and matching Note Tag punch as a bundle and save 15% – Wood mount bundle or Clear mount bundle.

Hubby helped me make 50 of these and we stuck the first batch in this cauldron!

Bess has got her same costume on from last year.

Think we’re ready now 😀

Halloween Holiday

Back with another larger Halloween treat and larger tag today.

Again, this design is easy to switch out to make a Christmas tag.

holiday home halloween tag

A strip of Typeset Specialty DSP was backed with Very Vanilla card for extra strength. The top was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper and the bottom with the PL Corner. The sentiment and the bats and spiders from the Holiday Home photopolymer set were stamped onto Pumpkin Pie card with Basic Black ink. After stamping the pumpkin with Pumpkin Pie ink onto Very Vanilla card, it was overstamped with the face carving in Basic Black ink. Whisper White Craft ink was used to stamp the ghost on Basic Black card. The bats, spiders and pumpkin were all punched out with the Banner. For the sentiment and ghost, the stamping was first trimmed to the same width as the Banner punch and then just the ends inserted into the back of the punch to get the banner tails. After adhering the small tags behind the sentiment, they were popped up on dimensionals on the tag. The whole tag was tied onto a Large Cello Bag with Natural Chevron Ribbon.

To switch this to a Christmas treat tag, stamp a combo of the fairy lights, snowman, wreath and snowflakes, together with the Christmas sentiment, or even Santa and his sleigh.

Bootiful Halloween

Another Halloween treat tag today.  A bigger tag for a bigger treat bag. This one took a little bit longer than the other recent tags I shared, simply because of the colouring in, but it still doesn’t take more than 10 minutes.

If you have kids then you could stamp and punch the tags and let them colour them in for you 🙂

The Halloween boot and sentiment combo from Bootiful Occasions was stamped in Black Stazon ink onto a strip of Whisper White card. The top was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper and the bottom with the PL Corner. Pear Pizzazz and Wisteria Wonder markers were used to colour in the boot and then the stars from Project Life Point & Click were added in Wisteria Wonder ink. The whole tag was tied onto a Large Cello Bag with Natural Chevron Ribbon.

To switch this to a Christmas treat tag, simply swap the boot for the Warm Winter Wishes one.

I’ll be back tomorrow to show how I used the negative of the Noel die cut that I shared yesterday.

Ghoulish tags

I don’t really bother with Halloween cards but I do make tags to go on the sweets we give out to trick or treaters.

Today’s tag is a really quick and easy one – great for making a whole bunch in one go. This one’s wrapped around a larger bag of choccies as demo model 🙂 whilst I try to find some sweets that will fit easily into the long cello bags.

The sentiments from Good Greetings (still available as a hostess freebie during October) were stamped in Black Stazon onto Whisper White card. “Blood splatters” were stamped over the top of the sentiments using Gorgeous Grunge stamps and Real Red ink. After punching the tag out with the Decorative Label it was tied onto the Medium Cello Bag with Real Red Taffeta Ribbon.

Have a great weekend.
