Yesterday I shared the card that I made for Jan’s birthday (I’ve updated the post with the few missing order codes – sorry about that) and today I can show you the matching gift wrap that I created.
As the gift already had a smart box and bag, it seemed a shame to just throw them away and so instead I decided to make my own belly band gift wrap to go around the box, before I put it back into the bag.
Recipe
Cardstock: Vellum Card (106584)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Pumpkin Pie (105216), Tangerine Tango (111834)
DSP: Sweet and Sour Specialty (117390), Neutrals Patterns Pack (117157)
Punch: Eyelet Border (119853)
Bigz Die: Beautiful Butterflies (114507)
Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper (120175)
Other: Basic Pearls (119247)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Sponge Dauber (102892), Brayer (102395)
A strip of Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP was cut to a slightly thicker width than the box and then wrapped around it, fastening with SNAIL underneath. A thinner strip of Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP was punched on either side with the Eyelet Border and then the edges sponged with Chocolate Chip ink before wrapping around the Specialty DSP. The butterfly was created in the same way as made for the card (here) but using the smaller butterfly.
The gift wrap then simply slides off the box to reveal the gift. An ideal solution when you like the existing packaging.
