Hope you’re having a great weekend.

I had a lovely afternoon with crafty friends and this is the other card that we made in class today. It uses the faux silk technique and helps to give a vintage feel to the card along with the fabulous antique brad.

faux silk card

Recipe
Stamp set: Winter Post (W111780), Season of Joy (110384)
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler (121681), Crumb Cake (121685), Very Vanilla (106550)
Ink: Black Stazon (101406), Cherry Cobbler (119669), Whisper White Craft (101731), SU Markers (119806)
Punches: Scallop Trim Border (118402)
Seam Binding Ribbon: Cherry Cobbler (120992)
Other: Antique Brads (117273),
Tools: Mat Pack (105826), Paper Piercing Tool (116631)
Non-SU: Tissue Paper (or use backing from SU Window Sheets)

The card base is Cherry Cobbler. A mat of Crumb Cake was stamped with the sentiment from the Season of Joy set using Cherry Cobbler ink, direct to card. Large snowflakes from the Winter Post set were then stamped around the edges of the mat using Cherry Cobbler and Craft Whisper White inks. You’ll need to clean the stamp well before using the White and allow it to dry (or set with a heat tool) before assembling to avoid smudging. A faux bow of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon was secured at the top of the mat with and Antique Brad and then the mat was adhered direct to the card front. The main faux silk image was adhered direct to a mat of Cherry Cobbler card that had been punched with the Scallop Trim Border across the bottom, then this was popped up on dimensionals on the card front.
