Black and gold Christmas card

black and gold xmas card close up

Oh dear, am I running behind at the moment! I’m just turning a corner with this cold but it means that I’ve only been able to operate at half speed this week and I’m going to have to pack a whole lot into tomorrow. We only just got the tree put up today 🙁

But at least I’m starting to feel better and I might be able to taste my Christmas lunch 🙂

Hubby’s been helping out though and he made this card for his Mum and Dad whilst I concentrated on the gift packaging. His design and all his own work. I’ll make a demo of him yet, heehee.

black and gold xmas card

Recipe
Stamp set: Season of Joy (W110384)
Cardstock: Basic Black (121688), Brushed Gold (124917)
Ink: Versamarker (100901)
DSP: Mocha Morning Specialty (122366)
Punches: Ornament (119847), Modern Label (119849), Word Window (119857)
Embossing Folder: Vintage Wallpaper (120175)
Other: Gold EP (109129), Basic Rhinestones (119246), Gold Elastic Cord (retired)
Tools: Heat Tool (110197), Big Shot (113439)

The base card is Basic Black, matted with Brushed Gold and then Basic Black again. Two ornaments were punched from Brushed Gold card and put through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. A third ornament was punched from the black flocked DSP and tied with Gold Elastic Cord. All were popped up on dimensionals diagonally across the front of the card. The sentiment was stamped individually by picking out the words separately with the Versamarker, stamped onto Basic Black card and heat embossed with Gold EP. They were then punched out with the Word Window, matted direct to Modern Labels punched from Brushed Gold card and popped up on dimensionals on the two remaining corners of the card front.

Thanks for making time to stop by at this busy time.
Sara xx
