This is a quick birthday card that I’ve been demonstrating at some of my workshops recently. This version is made with Melon Mambo but I also made alternative versions using Gumball Green, that work very well for masculine cards.
The card base is an A6 landscape of Basic Black, matted with First Edition DSP (121878). A panel of Basic Black card was edged with Melon Mambo strips punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (119275) and adhered direct to the card front. The sentiment from Cross My Heart (W126480 or C126582) was stamped in Basic Black onto Very Vanilla card, cut out by hand and then popped up on dimensionals on the card front.
The Very Vanilla insert was trimmed with a small panel of the same First Edition DSP and a different sentiment from the same Cross My Heart set was stamped direct in Basic Black. Here, the teeny cupcake from the set was stamped in Melon Mambo but on the male version, the dinky elephant was stamped with Gumball Green ink.
I really like this set for both male cards and for those of all my friends who love puzzles of all kinds – it’s just so fitting .
