clockworks birthday close up

Today I have a guest crafter for you Smile

This is the card made by my hubby for his Dad. It was quite a labour of love and I think it’s turned out brilliant! (but I am a little biased Tongue out)

clockworks birthday

The card base is an A6 portrait of Baked Brown Sugar. A mat of Very Vanilla was stamped with the ships log from The Open Sea set (W128454 or C123032) using Crumb Cake ink and sponged around the edges with both Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar. Cogs and clockwork elements from the Clockworks set (W131973 or C127292) were stamped onto Very Vanilla with the same inks, punched out with various circle punches and then punched all the way around with a hole punch. All were matted onto larger circles of Baked Brown Sugar and punched all over again. The hands of the clock were attached with a Mini Brad (122941) so that they swivel around (allowing his Dad to turn back time Laughing).

The sentiment from Bring on the Cake (W128490 or C121958) was stamped onto Very Vanilla card with Baked Brown Sugar ink. This was matted onto an Apothecary Accents (127003) label die cut from Baked Brown Sugar. Button Brads from Vintage Trinkets (118764) were added to either side of the sentiment before popping it up on dimensionals on the card front.

Even the envelope was finished off by stamping with the compass from the Open Sea set and sponging.

clockworks birthday inside

On the inside the Very Vanilla layer was stamped and sponged as for the front and then finished by stamping the globe from the Open Sea over the top in Baked Brown Sugar ink.

I think it’s his best yet?

It would be lovely if you’d leave a comment, as hubby’s so touched when he finds out what others have said.

Thank you.

Sara xx
