Happy New Year card

December 26, 2013

happy new year close up

Have you ever received a Christmas card just that bit too late for you to reciprocate? It seems to happen to me most years Laughing

My solution is to then send that person a New Years card instead.

happy new year card

The card base is an A6 portrait of Smoky Slate matted with Winter Frost Specialty DSP (132341). Champagne glasses from the Happy Hour set (Wood 132013 or Clear 126642) were stamped twice, at an angle to each other, onto Whisper White card with Basic Gray ink. The same glass was stamped again twice, onto the back of some scraps of Silver Glimmer Paper (124005) and just the liquid part was cut out. After cutting the glasses out with one of the Chalk Talk framelits (129983) the Silver Glimmer “liquid” was adhered over the top and Basic Rhinestone (119246) “bubbles” added.  The sentiment from Happy Hour was selectively coloured with an Island Indigo marker, stamped onto Whisper White card, die cut out with another Chalk Talk framelit and the banner cut at one end. Mats for both stamped images were cut from Bermuda Bay card, the 3/16″ Corner punch (119871) applied to most corners and a matching banner cut to the sentiment mat. Both mats were adhered direct to the card front. Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon (131152) was threaded through the top of the champagne glass image and Silver Ribbon (132137) used to tie it in place. More Silver Ribbon was threaded through the end of the sentiment. Both images were popped up on dimensionals on the card front. Finally, two Merry Mini stars (126882) were punched from more Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered to the edge of each image.

Thanks for stopping by.
