Kaleidoscope birthday card

February 18, 2014

kaleidoscope birthday close up

I love the geometric pattern to the Kaleidoscope papers and decided to alter that pattern slightly by turning it into a rosette. The Bermuda Bay adds a nice pop of colour to a mainly black and white design.

This card was created to help a Paper Dolls team mate celebrate her birthday. Hope you had a great day Julie!

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Black, matted with Kaleidoscope DSP (132995). A different pattern of the DSP was scored, formed into  rosette and adhered to the front of the card. The smallest of the Delicate Doilies (126999) was die cut from Basic Black card and adhered to the centre of the rosette. After threading Silver 1/8″ Ribbon (132137) through one of the Very Vintage Designer Buttons (129327) it was tied in a bow and again adhered to the centre of the rosette. The Scallop Trim Border punch (118402) was used along each long edge of a panel of Basic Black and a third pattern from the Kaleidoscope DSP matted onto it. Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon (131206) was wrapped around the panel which was then adhered to the front of the card. A second tiny piece of the same Taffeta Ribbon was tied on. Using Bermuda Bay ink, the sentiment from Express Yourself (hostess set  Wood 130336 or Clear 130339) was stamped onto Whisper White card and punched out with the Word Window (119857). This was matted onto a Modern Label (119849) punched from Basic Black and then popped up on dimensionals on the card front.

The Whisper White insert was stamped with another sentiment from the Express Yourself set in Bermuda Bay ink and a piece of Kaleidoscope DSP matching the rosette, was adhered along the bottom.
