Today’s birthday card uses the split negative technique to highlight the Beautifully Baroque stamp.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Gray, matted with Eastern Elegance DSP (130131). Since I was using a symmetrical design, I chose to stamp Beautifully Baroque (Wood only 130895) twice, once each onto Smoky Slate and Melon Mambo card, using Versamark ink (102283). The design on the Melon Mambo card was covered with Smoky Slate Emboss Powder (EP) (129396) and the Smoky Slate card covered with Melon Mambo EP (123223) and both were heat embossed. Both designs were then cut exactly down the centre and matched up to create two different cards. (If you use an asymmetrical design then you may find it easier to cut your card, stamp it once, across both colours of card and then separate out for the embossing). The split negative design was then die cut out with Ovals Collection framelits (129381) and adhered to the card front. A frame die cut from Basic Gray card with the more of the Ovals framelits was adhered over the top. After stamping the sentiment from Teeny Tiny sentiments (Wood 130042 or Clear 120024) onto Melon Mambo card with Versamark ink, it was heat embossed with Smoky Slate EP and punched out with the Word Window (119857). This was matted onto  Modern Label (119849) punched from Basic Gray card and the sentiment popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the inside, a sentiment from Happy Day (Wood 130294 or Clear 130297) was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the Whisper White insert and framed with the flourish from the same set, stamped above and below, using Melon Mambo ink.
