Bright Blossoms birthday card

May 5, 2014

Today’s card is sweet little birthday card. Have you figured out yet that I’m using up my 2012-2014 In Colors? They’ll be retiring at the end of June (or possibly even earlier depending on stock levels) so I’m sharing them with you while they’re still available.

The blues in the Gingham Garden DSP are actually Night of Navy and Island Indigo but I figured that as there are already two different dark blues in there then a third wouldn’t look too out of place. Hope you agree 🙂

The card base is an A6 portrait of Midnight Muse, cropped short on the right front edge and matted with Gingham Garden DSP (129310) and a sliver of Melon Mambo card. One of the vases from Bright Blossoms  (Wood 128424 or Clear 125497was coloured with Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz markers and stamped onto Very Vanilla card. A sentiment from Petite Pairs (Wood 128706 or Clear 122497was stamped beneath in Midnight Muse ink. The corners of the layer were rounded with the Corner Rounder (119871). After matting the layer onto Melon Mambo card the corners of the mat were also rounded, a strip of Melon Mambo separates the vase from the sentiment and all were popped up on dimensionals on the card front. Two In Color Dahlias (127556) were added to the tops of the stems above the vase.

On the inside a strip of Gingham Garden DSP was adhered close to the edge of the back, so that the flowers would show when the card is shut. The corners of the card front and the card back were all rounded with the Corner Rounder. A sliver of Melon Mambo card was adhered against it and then the Very Vanilla insert up against that. Another sentiment from Petite Pairs was stamped on the snide using Midnight Muse ink and leaves and a flower from Bright Blossoms were stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo ink respectively.

Thanks for stopping by.
