Well my work week (the day job that is), is completely out of whack this week. In addition to having a bank holiday at the beginning, I’m working my days at the end of the week instead of at the beginning. So, today, whilst I’m not working, I’ve been prepping for our class on Saturday (not really work is it? 🙂 ) and I also snuck in a bit of extra crafty time to play along with this week’s SUDSOL sketch challenge, a little earlier than usual.
Here’s this week’s challenge:
And this is my take on it:
The card base is an A6 portrait of Crumb Cake. A mat of Very Vanilla card was run through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder (119976), but only along each side. The pattern was made a little more contained, by scoring a line right up against the edge with the Score Board, before adhering direct to the card front. A strip of Crumb Cake card was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper (133324) at one end and the Corner Rounder (119871) at the other. Trimming a strip of Very Vanilla card around a 1/4″ narrower on both side, it was punched in the same way. The birthday cake was built using Make a Cake (Wood 132036 or Clear 126742), stamped with Baked Brown Sugar, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049)to get the pieces into position. A birthday sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (Wood 130042 or Clear 120024) was added in the same ink beneath it. This was popped up on the Crumb Cake tag with dimensionals. After threading a piece of Victoria Crochet Trim (118481) through the offset holes, it was secured with Linen Thread (104199) and trimmed. The combined Tags were then popped up on dimensionals on the front of the card.
On the Very Vanilla insert, another sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar ink, along with some of the diddy butterflies from the Make a Cake set.
Now, back to class preparation 🙂
