Hearts Border Valentine

Yesterday I shared how the Stacked With Love DSP can be used for occasions other than valentine’s.

As Valentine’s Day is only four weeks today, I have used the same DSP to create a valentine’s card.

The idea for creating the square hearts border isn’t an original – I CASE’d it from US demo, Brian King – thanks Brian.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Real Red. A layer of Stacked With Love DSP was cut into two so that both sides of the paper were displayed. Calypso Coral Seam Binding Ribbon was wrapped around and tied to cover the join. A 2-3/4″ square of Real Red card was punched with the Project Life Corner and adhered to the centre of the upper DSP panel. A 2-1/2″ square of Crisp Cantaloupe card was punched with the Hearts Border as well as the Project Life Corner. This was punched in the centre with the 1-3/8″ Circle. A sentiment from the Something to Say set was stamped in Black Stazon onto Window Sheet and adhered behind the Circle aperture. A Shaker Frame was added around the stamped Window Sheet, filled with hearts punched from a scrap of Real Red card. The shaker was backed with a small piece of Whisper White card before adhering direct to the centre of the Real Red layer. A sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped in Black Stazon onto Crisp Cantaloupe card, punched out with the Word Window, adhered to a Modern Label punched from Real Red and popped up on the card front with dimensionals.

On the inside, another sentiment and the small heart from the same Something to Say set, were stamped in Real Red ink.

Both the Something to Say and the Teeny, Tiny Sentiments sets have plenty of stamps for other occasions, making them year round workhorses. 🙂
