It’s the weekend and so I have another valentine for you that uses an alternative (non-valentine) stamp set. This week it’s a hostess set – Nuts About You.
How’s this one for a more masculine valentine? 🙂
The card base is an A6 portrait of Early Espresso, matted with paper from the Adventure Bound DSP Stack. Soft Suede and Wild Wasabi markers were used to colour the tree from the Nuts About You set direct to the stamp, before huffing and stamping on to a square of Whisper White card. Early Espresso ink was used to stamp the carved heart onto the tree. Grass was stamped with Wild Wasabi and the bird in the nest with Baked Brown Sugar. Next, Cajun Craze was used to stamp the two squirrels onto a narrow panel of Whisper White card. The PL Corner was used to punch the corners of these stamped pieces and also the matching Early Espresso mats, before layering them up and popping them up on dimensionals on the card front. Real Red ink was used to stamp the Nuts about You sentiment onto Whisper White card before punching out with the 3/4″ Circle, matting onto a 1″ Circle punched from Early Espresso and then adhering direct to the corner of the tree panel. Finally, an Itty Bitty Accents Heart was punched from Real Red card, covered with Crystal Effects and popped up on a sliver of dimensional between the two squirrels.
The Whisper White insert was simply stamped with the remaining creatures from the set in Early Espresso (and I’ve got to admit that I’m not sure what that is, hanging by it’s tail – anyone know?).
Just two weeks to go now to Valentine’s Day – don’t leave it until the last minute!
Sara xx
