When we made this card in our monthly card class, everyone was given the option of creating it with the sympathy sentiment, or as a birthday card, as they preferred.
It’s always good to have a sympathy card ready to use, much harder to have to create one at short notice and I feel that poppies (symbolising remembrance) are a good option.
The card base is a small square of Basic Black, matted with Real Red and Basic Black squares, die cut with the Squares Collection framelits and arranged on the card front as diamonds. After stamping the Pleasant Poppies onto Whisper White card with Black Stazon, portions of them were punched out with the 1″ Square (currently on offer in our Weekly Deals) and the stems of these punched images were coloured with the Old Olive marker. The same Pleasant Poppies was stamped again onto Real Red card with Black Stazon and the corresponding poppies of those punched already, were cut out by hand, popped up on dimensionals and any overhanging pieces cut away from the squares. A sentiment from the hostess set, Bloom with Hope, was stamped onto Whisper White card with Black Stazon and punched out with the 1″ Square so that text sits across the wide part of the square, as a diamond. The squares were then adhered direct to the front of the card.
On the Whisper White insert, the corresponding sentiment from Bloom with Hope and just one of the poppy heads were stamped in Black Stazon.
Have a great weekend.
