I love the new ruffled ribbons that come in the new 1916-18 In Colors. They’re just slightly gathered but not too bulky for using on cards.
They’re perfect for adding a simple bow or knot to a card … or you can go to town a bit more 🙂
Here I’ve used two of them behind a die cut aperture to create a hot air balloon.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Flirty Flamingo, matted with another of the lovely Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP patterns (this one’s a mix of Crumb Cake and Watermelon Wonder). A panel of Whisper White was trimmed at an angle and the Balloon framelit used to die cut the aperture from it. Using Soft Suede ink, the basket from the matching Celebrate Today set was stamped beneath the balloon and a sentiment from the same set stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink. A scrap of Whisper White card was covered with strips of Tear and Tape and then Flirty Flamingo and Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbons were adhered, curving them slightly top and bottom. The ribbon panel was adhered direct to the front of the card and the aperture panel popped up over the top with dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert, the flags and a sentiment from the same Celebrate Today set were added in Flirty Flamingo ink.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Sara xx
