Painted Harvest birthday card

September 22, 2017

My birthday cards at this time of year tend to be inspired by the autumn colour palette all around us.

But if I ever get a little stuck for which colours to put together, I can always “cheat” and look at the colour palettes that SU! use for their DSP! That’s what I did here.

The card base is an A6 portrait of Cajun Craze card matted with Painted Autumn DSP.  A Stitched Shapes circle was die cut from Whisper White card and layered onto a Layering Circle die cut from Cajun Craze card. These were popped up on the card front with dimensionals. The Painted Harvest flower was stamped onto Whisper White card with Peekaboo Peach ink for the base flower, Cajun Craze ink for the shadowed flower layer and Daffodil Delight for the flower centre. This was then fussy cut out. The solid trio of leaves was stamped onto Whisper White card twice with Lemon Lime ink and then both were overstamped with the detailed leaf trio using Garden Green ink, before punching out with the Leaf punch. The leaves were adhered behind the flower before popping it up in the centre of the circles with dimensionals. A strip of another design of paper from the same Painted Autumn DSP, was matted onto Cajun Craze card and adhered direct to the card front below the flower. A sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was stamped in Basic Black ink onto Whisper White card and die cut out with a Stitched Shape oval. This was popped up with dimensionals onto an Everyday Label punched from Cajun Craze card and then both layers were popped up on the card front, over the DSP strip.

On the Whisper White insert, another flower and leaves were stamped, as for the front of the card but this time, direct to the insert. Another sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous was added with Cajun Craze ink.

The Cajun Craze petals look quite dark when first stamped but dry a little lighter, complementing the Peekaboo Peach very well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great weekend.

Sara xx
