Today is Day 2 of our 20 day series of projects using patterned paper (also known as Designer Series Paper or DSP for short).
An easy (but not always quick) technique to use with patterned papers is to fussy cut (fussy cutting is cutting out by hand with scissors) out an element from the paper. Here we followed an idea straight out of the Autumn/Winter catalogue (page 28) and cut out a sentiment from the Christmas Around the World DSP. This one was an easy shape to cut but as you practice, you can opt for more detailed designs.
I’ll be sharing other ideas and a tip for this card on my Facebook page tomorrow so if you don’t already follow Crafting and Stamping on Facebook please pop over and Like or Follow us there so you don’t miss our extra tips.
The card base is a small square (3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″) of Basic Gray, matted with Christmas Around the World DSP. A small strip of another pattern of the same papers was adhered across the front and then a tiny sliver of Silver Glitter Paper. After fussy cutting out a sentiment from the Christmas Around the World DSP it was popped up on the card front with dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert another piece of the same strip of DSP as on the front was adhered but much close to the base of the insert.
Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.
