On to Day 3 of our 20 day series of projects using patterned paper (also known as Designer Series Paper or DSP for short).
Got a “busy” paper that you love? It can be difficult to add a sentiment without covering the paper up. One possible solution is to use a vellum wrap as we have done here. The embossed sentiment stands out but the pattern can still be seen behind it. Another advantage is that you have a very flat card, ideal for posting.
We used White Emboss Powder to contrast with the dark paper but you can use Black or a dark metallic if your pattern is lighter.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Basic Black. A large card front layer of Tangerine Tango was matted with Whole Lot of Lovely DSP. After dusting Vellum Cardstock with an Embossing Buddy, a sentiment from Lots of Love was stamped using Versamark ink. This was then covered with White EP and heat embossed. The vellum was wrapped around the card front layers and secured on the back before adhering the layers direct to the card front.
On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from Lots of Love was stamped in Basic Black and the flower and leaves added with Tangerine Tango and Pear Pizzazz inks respectively.
Our Designer Series Paper Sale is still on at the moment so you can stock up for less.
Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your weekend.
