Wow, we’re round to Day 15 of our 20 day series of projects using patterned paper (also known as Designer Series Paper or DSP for short) – three-quarters of the way there. Today we’re transforming a striped patterned paper with washi tape.
I love striped papers because they’re so versatile. We’ve transformed this one with washi tape but you could easily use those white stripes for repeat stamping a sentiment onto instead.
The card base is an A6 landscape of Real Red. The striped paper from the Christmas Around the World DSP pack is actually vertical (or horizontal stripes and so was first cut across at an angle before trimming to card front size, creating diagonal stripes. Two different tapes from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape pack were alternately laid across the white stripes and wrapped around the edges before adhering the paper direct to the card front. Using Real Red ink, a sentiment from Merry Mistletoe was stamped onto Whisper White card. This was matted first onto Real Red card and then Gold Foil before popping the layers up on the card from with dimensionals. To finish a star shaped Stitched Felt Embellishment was adhered to the corner of the sentiment mat with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
On the Whisper White insert another sentiment and a mistletoe bough and bow were stamped with Real Red ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
