Today’s birthday card uses the Stampin’ Blends to colour the pretty flowers from the Climbing Orchid stamp set.
The pattern the Garden Trellis embossing folder, is also a pattern used within the Petal Garden DSP Stack, though the sizing of the pattern varies between the two. This card design uses the repeating pattern as a non-intrusive background to the flower.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Old Olive matted with Petal Garden DSP and then a smaller panel of Smoky Slate that was first run through the Big Shot with the Garden Trellis embossing folder. Using Memento Black ink, the large lined orchid segments and the large leaf were stamped onto scraps of Whisper White. The flowers and leaves were coloured with both light and dark Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. Daffodil Delight ink was used to stamp the centre of the flower onto a scrap of Whisper White card and the stamens were stamped over the top with Memento Black ink once the coloured ink was fully dry (otherwise it could “bleed”). The co-ordinating Orchid Builder framelits were used to die cut out the flower elements and leaves, which were then popped up on the card front with dimensionals. Memento Black ink was used to stamp a sentiment from Thoughtful Banners onto a narrow strip of Whisper White card which was flagged at one end before adding it to the card front with dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert further sentiments from Thoughtful Banners were stamped in Memento Black ink and a smaller full orchid from the Climbing Orchid set was stamped in Daffodil Delight ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
