Day 4 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.
Today we’re using Highland Heather. This is another brand new colour in a gorgeous pale purple.
And staying with tying it to a metallic, as I did yesterday, I opted for a beautiful combination I found on Pinterest (feel free to follow my boards at craftingandstamping if they help inspire you), which I interpreted as Highland Heather, Pool Party and Gold Foil/Emboss.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Pool Party, matted with Highland Heather card. A card front layer of Whisper White was stamped with the splatter from Swirly Bird using Highland Heather and Pool Party inks, stamped off first for a paler shade and then with Versamark which was heat embossed with Gold EP. The long swirl from the co-ordinating Swirly Scribbles die set was die cut from Gold Foil and adhered direct to the card front layer before adhering it direct to the front of the card. Both sizes of swirl flower from the set were stamped onto Whisper White card with Highland Heather ink at full strength and cut out with the matching die. Both sizes of leaf from the set were also stamped onto Whisper White card, this time with Pool Party ink at full strength and cut out with the matching die. A sentiment from Thoughtful Banners was stamped onto skinny strips of Highland Heather card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold EP. All of these small elements were popped up onto the card front with mini dimensionals.
On the Whisper White insert, another sentiment from Thoughtful Banners was stamped in Highland Heather ink and leaves from the Swirly Bird set were stamped around it, stamping off first, for the paler colour. A large solid circle from the Swirly Bird set was stamped with Pool Party ink at full strength in the bottom right corner and a swirl stamped over the top in Highland Heather ink.
I love this colour combination and you could take it a shade darker by using Gorgeous Grape and Coastal Cabana with Gold – one for another day I think.
Thanks for stopping by.
