Day 5 of our new and returning colour focus, where I’m sharing projects that showcase one of these additions to the Stampin’ Up! colour families and suggesting a possible colour combination.
Today it’s Flirty Flamingo. This is another returning colour and a much more recent In Color that was around all of the past two years, so you’re probably already pretty familiar with it.
As it’s such a recent returning colour I’ve teamed it with a brand new colour, Shaded Spruce and another returning colour, Coastal Cabana.
The card base is an A6 portrait of Flirty Flamingo. On a card front layer of Whisper White, the single stamp of the full body and legs of the flamingo from Fabulous Flamingo was stamped towards the right side with full strength Flirty Flamingo ink. Using the same ink the fill-in body from the set was inked up, stamped off once and then stamped over the top of the full bird. The outline body was stamped over the top using Flirty Flamingo, again at full strength. Using Coastal Cabana ink, the water pool was stamped around the feet of the bird. Grass fronds and a sentiment from the set were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink. A panel of Tropical Escape DSP was added to the left side of the layer and all were matted onto Coastal Cabana card. Shaded Spruce ribbon, from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, was adhered around the join between DSP and card before adhering all the layers direct to the card front.
The Whisper White insert was simply decorated toward the base with a strip of the same DSP used on the front, leaving plenty of room for a message.
Thanks for stopping by.
